Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan hosted TAIEX Expert Mission

 TAIEX Expert Mission on Stimulation of non-cash payments was held in the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 5th-7th of May.
 
TAIEX Expert Mission on "Stimulation of non-cash payments" was held in the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 5th-7th of May. The purpose of the expert mission was conferring challenges and possible measures in diminishing cash payments and stimulating cashless transactions in Azerbaijan. In this regard, Mr. Adam Janiszewski, the specialist of Polish Financial Supervision Authority was involved by the European Commission to share his experience on given subject and provide with the tools applied in EU member states. The relevant tax professionals took part in the three-day seminar where they got acquianted with the presentations delivered by the expert and did extensive group discussions. Participants familiarized with advanced practices of EU member state countries and discussed possible ways of harmonization of local legislation with EU standards.
It should be mentioned that TAIEX is the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission. Countries receiving assistance under this program are provided with recommendations, as well as short-term technical assistance in bringing domestic legislation in line with EU legislation.
