The organisational structure of the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan was modified on 2 July, 2018 in order to improve the efficiency of overall management, establish a modern tax administration with dynamic structure and enhance monitoring over tax payments.
New entities involved in macro and microeconomic analysis of taxpayers' activities were established within the framework of reforms in order to achieve goals set out in the New Economic Development Strategy and "Strategic Road Maps on national economy and main sectors of economy" approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It shall also be noted that the main purpose of the structural reforms is to ensure transparency in the activities of tax authorities, increase the role of tax administration in creating favorable business environment and to strengthen fight against corruption.
