Nina Schanke Funnemark has been appointed as Director General of the Norwegian Tax Administration for a period of six years. She comes from a position as the CEO of Lånekassen (the State Educational Loan Fund). Ms. Funnemark holds a degree in law. The position as Director General is one of the most central and challenging top management positions in the state. The tax authorities are at the forefront in many areas.

The Norwegian Tax Administration has recently undergone a major reorganisation, and as of 1st November, the municipal tax collectors will become part of the tax administration. Realising the potential of these changes and developing the administration further are important tasks for the new director. "Ms. Funnemark is a talented professional and leader, and I am very pleased that she has accepted the position" says Minister of Finance Jan Tore Sanner.

Ms. Funnemark has extensive experience from the Tax Administration, including having worked as Assistant Director General. She knows the Tax Administration and public sector well. "I am grateful for the trust and looking forward to returning to the Tax Administration. The Tax Administration is a large and complex business. Combining predictable and correct management with development and innovation is one of the most important challenges I wish to take on as Director General" says the new Director General, Nina Funnemark.

Ms. Funnemark will join the Tax Administration on 19th October, by further agreement. We, at IOTA, wish her good luck and health in her new position.
