Since its initiation in 2012 on the eve of tax officials’ professional holiday, the Forum addresses the issues of tax policy, business environment, e-governance and new information technologies, as well as the role of international cooperation in improving tax legislation and administration in Azerbaijan. The previous Forums were devoted to the discussion of challenges of national and world economy, adjusting of the tax system of Azerbaijan to the international standards and its development based on the latest achievements in the field of information technologies.
The Forum intends to bring together high-level government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations, such as European Union, World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development as well as from tax administrations of different countries and top managers from private sector and businesses.
The main objective of the Forum is to review tax legislation, evaluate the general tax administration in Azerbaijan and to discuss suggestions on enhancement and simplification of the Tax Code. The Tax Forum 2015 will put a special emphasis on the 15th anniversary since foundation of the Ministry of Taxes in Azerbaijan.
